About Threads
Threads Fashion Show is an annual event produced by the Fashion Merchandising and Design students at Central Michigan University. The show provides aspiring apparel designers a platform to showcase their work while collaborating with departments across campus. Students gain experience in numerous aspects of fashion production including public relations, photography, video production, graphic design, model management, choreography, stage lighting, web design, and program development.
My Experience
In Spring 2018, I participated in the Threads Fashion Show Product class. I was assigned as a member of the venue committee and assisted in the planning, production and facilitation of the event. The venue committee was responsible for: creating the runway layout, lighting selection and decor, music selection, mounted exhibition, step-and-repeat, monitoring each tent and judging day.
