Fashion Association of Merchandising and Design

The Fashion Association of Merchandising and Design is an organization for students planning a career in the fashion and retailing industry. The main goal is to establish a working relationship with each other and professionals working in the industry.

Attended MAGIC (Las Vegas) - Feb. 6 to Feb. 9, 2019

The oldest and most renowned bi-annual fashion trade show, began in 1933 and showcases the latest in: men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel, footwear, accessories and fashion resources. The February show focuses on the upcoming fall and winter season while a similar show in August features the following spring and summer seasons.

FashionSpeak is part education, part networking, and all about the business of fashion. It is a time for professionals (designers, manufacturers, retailers, buyers, and bloggers) in the industry from veterans to college students to meet and learn from each other. Detroit Garment Group's vision is to make Michigan the state for the cut & sew industry through education, job creation, professional opportunities and new-business attraction.
